Monetize your property by hosting a community solar project.
Earn Passively
Earn long-term lease payments on your property, including space like your commercial rooftop or parking lot that might otherwise go unmonetized.
Protect the Planet
Help protect the planet for future generations by adding 100% renewable energy to the electrical grid.
Save on Energy
You and your community have the option to subscribe to the system and save 10%+ on electricity rates.
One-Stop Partners
Our team is your single point of contact from start to finish. Integrity and open communication guide our relationships with partners every step of the way.
We're looking for two kinds of clean
energy partners in California

Community Solar Farms
If you have over 10 acres of vacant land, your property could become our next community solar farm. You’ll generate clean energy for your community while earning long-term income.

Battery Storage
To earn long-term lease income as a battery project host, all you need is 7,000+ square feet of land in a commercial or industrial zone. Battery storage projects are a vital part of the clean energy transition, helping to ensure we have electricity when the sun isn’t shining or the wind isn’t blowing.
Get Started
Transition to renewable energy by hosting a solar project, subscribing to a project, or co-developing a project with us.
Frequently Asked Questions
UGE is 100% responsible for all costs and work associated with the project. You will never pay for anything, and instead, will earn lease payments in exchange for hosting the project. UGE is responsible for all work, every step of the way, including permitting, development, construction, and associated property taxes for the full lifecycle of the project, and when the time comes, we are responsible for decommissioning the project.
Currently, we are only able to develop solar and battery storage projects in the following utility territories: San Diego Gas & Electric, Pacific Gas & Electric, and Southern California Edison.
Lease rates vary quite a bit based on the city, county, and utility territory where your property sits, as well as the specific characteristics of your property. In order to provide an estimate lease rate, we’ll need to complete a quick feasibility analysis for your property. Just fill out the form on this page to get started!
Community solar projects, also known as solar farms, solar gardens, solar parks, or solar fields, are areas of land, commercial rooftops, or carport canopies containing interconnected solar panels that harvest large amounts of solar energy at once. Community solar projects are designed for mid- to large-scale solar energy generation that feeds directly into the grid, as opposed to individual solar panels that usually power a single home or building.
